I don't get it

Was the movie made before the game and at last minute they thought "let's make a game" or was it the other way around? Clearly something isn't right here. The quality on the cutscenes in the game is just too high for a game like this. That's what got me a bit confused on this whole matter. The movie fails so bad because it's basically the game but without the parts that make it work in the GAME - it just doesn't work on the screen because of it. It was such an epic failure so I kinda understand why they barely spent any money on the marketing.

The game is great, let's just leave it at that. The movie was shockingly bad. If you've played the game do NOT go and see this movie. If you haven't played the game do not go and see the movie - buy the game instead.

Maybe I'd have enjoyed the movie more if I saw it before playing the game. The biggest flaw of the movie is that it feels too similar to the game's plot. I understand some of the reasons for this. The game was re-introducing Ratchet & Clank to gamers while the movie was introducing Ratchet & Clank for the first time to cinematic audiences. Plus sharing character models and settings probably helped with the budget. It doesn't change how samey it feels at times.

What would have worked better is an introductory scene explaining the basics of the backstory and then a totally different plot. Maybe with a villain not in the game to set it more apart.

The biggest flaw of this movie is that it's unoriginal cliche trash

"Think of it. 90% of the population united against a common enemy. We'll be unstoppable!"
