maybe not for the young and dumb

This is no Rocky film by a long shot and if you think that, you're retarded.

It's not about an old boxer who doesn't want to retire, and it's not about a new young boxer trying to make a name.

The best I can say without some spoilers is that Sailor is a guy living with so much pain and suffering that he no longer feels anything and wants to just be punished for being the one who survived..

To say King is just a punk kid trying to make a name is laughable. here's a kid who grew up with a rough life, his mother is using him as a prostitute and all he wants to do is do right by his new wife and his baby and give them something to be proud of.

I think you need to have some life experience, maybe a kid, to truly understand this film. Ours not just a boxing film that's for sure..
