Rape is a funny joke?

In one of the first scenes when they bring the bot home, one of the boys immediately tells the other to rape the girl while she's unconscious. Why would anyone think this is funny?

I get that its supposed to be a gross out, silly comedy about sex and the idea of sex with a robot is somewhat negligible when it comes to consent, but they didn't know she was a robot.

reply

also the two want to appear as responsible people later on in the movie.
they drove over a person and wanted to get rid of the body.
and they made fun of that as well.
as if driving over a body was nothing.

reply

the only way we can laugh at this joke is that we the viewer knows the actress is supposed to be a robot.
I doubt the joke would have worked if they ran over a real woman and dragged her to the room.
and told that joke. - then we would have switched off the show at that point.

I think that is the reason they choose to edit the movie so that everybody knew it was robot

otherwise I think the movie would have been better if the viewer didn't know it was a robot to start with.
but then the 2 heroes would appear as 2 evil persons that runs over a woman.

reply

Even if she was a robot, consent still matters IMO. I ended up turning off the movie after that bit. I couldn't really watch a movie where one protagonist advocated rape, because to US it was a joke, but in the context they did NOT know she was a robot at all.

One friend gave real rape advice to his friend.

Did you just say consent matters with a bot?

Believe it or not feminists are already launching crusades against sex bots even while that type of tech is still in it's infancy. They basically want it to be done away with. They are claiming everything you'd expect from that kind of feminist. "It'll encourage rape", "it'll make guys think of women like they're toys" and on.

Just google 'sex bots feminists' and it'll pop up.

It's understandable for women to get outraged though. Once sex bots are advanced enough it'll kill the only tool women have to garner power/attention. (Sex)

reply

I somehow think that you hit the nail on the head with that last remark. Maybe we should have all feminists turn in their dildo's too..

I love it when people make unintentionally revealing posts. That sentence is all about you and nobody else.

You either have your head very deep in your ass, you're extremely biased OR you haven't been put in any situations somewhat attractive women get put in. Which is basically a backhanded comment that assumes you're unattractive.

Let's start. Ladies Night at most clubs, bars. They offer free drinks all night and free entry. You're getting free *beep* solely because they're chicks.

Women being able to get free meals from dates. As always men are expected to pay. Some women split the bill, while others (at a higher rate) expect men to pay. If they don't the guy is a cheapskate and it's not 'gentlemen' like. There's even be stories of women who knowingly line up a date every night of the week SOLELY to get a free meal. Examples like this is one of the manyhttp://www.businessinsider.com/confessions-how-she-made-1200-a-month-using-matchcom-2011-11. Again, free stuff.

Let's keep in mind how the man normally always picks up the girl and drops them off. That's quite a bit of money saved on gas. Dating and marriage is highly economically beneficial to women. Studies and statistics prove that. This is one of the many reasons why marriage is pretty much almost dead among 20 somethings, men have simply realized it's a financial trap and have opted out.

At the end of the day women get catered to solely because of their gender. Every time a guy has paid for your meal, picked you up or did a favor for you he did that with the intention of getting laid.

Once women lose that, they will have one hellacious problem on their hands.

reply

TL;DR it is all women's fault that society has a predilection to treating them as sex objects

You put in so much effort and the end result was an even more revealing post.

reply

As with a typical femtard getting destroyed you have very little to say of any substance, offer zero arguments and are flat out dismissive. Again, typical feminist..lol

reply

That's meta funny because you just described your own two line post. Is there any pejorative more devoid of substance and dismissive than "femtard?"

reply

Here i sit, almost 2 weeks later, still waiting on the feminazi's rebuttal....

I'll be here a long time, you people never have anything substantial to say, "wehhhh we want equal rights to benefit us and all men are scum wehhhh".

reply

Huh?
What the hell are you talking about?

That's generally how feminists are. They spew horse *beep* flawed and or biased studies, parrot incorrect crap that's been disproved or proven to be highly exaggerated. When they get called out on it they are always extremely dismissive. Then turn around and cry "sexism!"

For example, Anita Sarkeesian. When people say stupid *beep* they WILL get flamed. It doesn't matter if it's a man or woman. Much like Anita there was a guy in the late 90s, he made the claim "Violent video games cause violence", he was attacked, he was flamed, he was harassed and received death threats. Now we have that Anita chick saying equally dumb *beep* (there's sexism in games and it causes boys to be sexist). Well..Guess what, same exact treatment. The only difference is she uses that as "proof" and plays the victim card.

So basically you have a bimbo saying stupid *beep* people call her a moron, she replies with "SEE THIS IS SEXISM!"

Funny, when conservatives say "Violence is caused by video games and movies" he gets laughed at and flamed by liberals. But when a liberal woman makes an equally stupid claim they nod and agree.

reply

Dali never said anything about being a feminist and never acted like one either, all they said is that your last sentence;

" It's understandable for women to get outraged though. Once sex bots are advanced enough it'll kill the only tool women have to garner power/attention. (Sex)"

This is an eye popper to sane people and highlights your own feelings. Heres another quote to paraphrase Dali's gist regarding your quote up there; "People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character." Ralph Waldo Emerson. You wouldn't get mad about something if you didn't have a personal investment right?

Then you get mean and insulting (shows character again) and start to describe how women can get free food and drinks if they are attractive, then try to connect this to a stated drop in 20 somethings getting married (as if 20 somethings getting married was a GOOD thing?).

There are a lot of things going on in the world that deserve our anger, and lots that really really don't. To me it looks like you are angry that women have power over you and want to be allowed to buy a sex bot...based on your posts anyways.

"To be possessed of a vigorous mind is not enough; the prime requisite is to apply it."

reply

Judging by your remarks, I'd have to guess you're about 12 years old...and you recently went in for your first kiss and the girl punched you in your just dropped balls.

If I'm wrong about your age, just substitute the correct number...and the rest of the sentence stands. In a frivolous effort to educate you, your misogyny is based on fear...talk to a therapist.

reply

As with a typical femtard getting destroyed you have very little to say of any substance, offer zero arguments and are flat out dismissive. Again, typical feminist..lol

It's always adorable when I get proven right in the same exact thread I make a claim in.

Apparenlty in 2016, women are the ultimately authority (even though they have done nothing of any significance to warrant it) You cannot question, ridicule, insult or disagree with a woman without being labeled a misogynist.

Weird. That doesn't sound like that whole 'equality' thing feminists want. Sounds more like special treatment and favoritism to me. 😙

reply

Yes, and someone used it in response to this.
They might be mouth breathing idiots, but at least they're accommodating!

reply

It's understandable for women to get outraged though. Once sex bots are advanced enough it'll kill the only tool women have to garner power/attention. (Sex)

This was wrong. As in factually inaccurate, not morally or ethically wrong. Wrong as in "untrue".

I love it when people make unintentionally revealing posts. That sentence is all about you and nobody else.

This was right.

You either have your head very deep in your ass, you're extremely biased OR you haven't been put in any situations somewhat attractive women get put in. Which is basically a backhanded comment that assumes you're unattractive.

This was the backlash of someone so resentful and emotionally invested in his opinion that his ability to think logically or to recognize fallacies was severerly diminished. As proven by the personal attack, due to a lack of solid data to prove their point. This also showed deep resentment, but it can be expected or understood considering marriage and divorce laws nowadays.

Let's clarify what's wrong here:
It's understandable for WRONG WORD to get outraged though. Once sex bots are advanced enough it'll kill the WRONG WORD tool women have to garner power/attention. (Sex)

Correction:
It's understandable for radical feminists and golddiggers to get outraged though.
Radical feminists get outraged becuase "outrage" is what they do 24/7 (the idiocy of the attack on a scientist's shirt when a landmark hit in the space career was made comes to mind. I wanted to puke when they did that).
Gold diggers get outraged because sexbots will limit or destroy their possibilities of golddigging.

Women who do not accept invitations or money from strangers, who give back invitations regularly (no, I don't count how many times my husband pays or when I do, I counted at the beginning), pay for their stuff, get constant education and have qualified jobs, should have no problems with sex bots.

Women who think "I'm hot, so I will not study, or work, or do anything and hope for a guy to take care for me and pamper me and buy me a 10.000$ ring -an absolutely stupid waste of money- and pay for a wedding that includes a 2.500$ cake -an atrocious waste of money-, I'm hot, so worship me", are undoubtedly screwed.

What's wrong is saying "women" when you mean "this type of women".

Women who "do their homework", that is, develop their minds and personalities beyond the physical (being in physical peak shape by proper nutrition and exercise is simply proper personal development), have no problem with sexbots, just as we don't have any problem with voluntary prostitution.

Actually, I have EXTREME hatred for forced prostitution (it's basically getting innocent or poor girls raped tens or hundreds of times for money, which is one of the most despicable things I can think of), so as I woman I LOVE the idea of proper sexbots which will save hundreds of innocent girls and women from being forced into prostitution. Some monsters will still rape, but any man who cannot find a willing woman, will be able to use a robot. I find that good news.

I like sexbots as I like voluntary prostitutes: they are doing a job most women do NOT want to do: because they do (or will do) it, some others will not be forced into doing it.

At the end of the day women get catered to solely because of their gender.

True, even for those of us who never accepted even an invitation to a lemon fanta. But that doesn't mean we enjoy the need to be catered. If I didn't go out unless there were guys from the group walking home on the same direction, it wasn't to abuse any privilege. It was because my chances of getting raped were much higher if I went home alone, because by age 15 I had been groped by strangers more times than should be normal (at 8, 10, 11 and 15). And that's just me, who was such a scaredcat that I wouldn't go out at night without company, at all (I was groped in broad daylight, which made me believe that the world was unsafe for me).

So, yes, we get catered because of our gender. However, if sexbots are going to be groped instead of 10-year old girls, and every guy who wants to get laid is going to get a sexbot, and my daughters will grow without being groped at ages 8, 10 and 11, and rapes will become so rare that my 15 year old daughter will be able to go out at night without an escort, because the chances will be minimal... bring the sexbots, and let me pay my bills.

I'd rather have freedom than pampering. I don't know what it is to walk home at night feeling safe.

Every time a guy has paid for your meal, picked you up or did a favor for you he did that with the intention of getting laid.

I cannot know how guys think, and I went out of the market at 18, so I'm not going to discuss that. However, just as I think your "women are all X" is wrong to women, I think the "men are all X" is wrong to men, It's unfair.
I'm yearning to see how much of that is true. If a man getting constantly laid with a sexbot will still be "nice". I would bet many of my male and female friends will still continue doing favors" for one another. There will be just no leeches. Actually, the existence of sexbots will hurt only the dishonest and the leeches. Which will be good news. The selfish, who only want to use "others" will get out of the dating market. The selfish women, who only want to use men, will lose in the dating market. It's a win-win situation.

Once women lose that, they will have one hellacious problem on their hands.

Women who leech on men, for sure. That subgroup only. Women who can manage their own money and treat men fairly will not have any problem.

Actually, it think it's going to be great for many women if sexbots like the ones in the movie become popular. As I said before, it'd be great to have a childhood free of fear of sexual attacks, and knowing that if a guy is nice to you, he is genuinely so, because he can *beep* his sexbot as much as he can.

So... I see why you're angry with the women that you refer to, but if your glee comes out of the notion that "Ooooh... sexbots are going to make women SO miserable!"... You're wrong. They will make many women free from sexual slavery, and will free others from a good part of opportunistic sexual attacks (those coming from attackers who are not total monsters or nutjobs), so many of us are rooting for them.

And, because of what you say about feminists opposing sexbots, I'll have to oppose them. Gah, I have to thank the feminists for the votes and other rights, but ever since the Rosetta incident I just can't stand some of them and their "outrageous-mode".

reply

actually the robot raped the news reporter to start with without consent.
and he even said no.
what the boys said was a joke
but what the robot did with the male newsreporter was rape.

so without consent you wouldn't use your mobile phone?
If a programmer built in as you typed a number you are allowed to make that call to day you would not.
consent from a electronic device makes no sense as a robot has no feelings.

reply

If it's a robot, it's not a She, it's an it. It's no more female than a toaster.
Are you saying that if someone dressed their hoover up as a woman, and has sex with it, then they're raping it as the Hoover didn't give consent?

You're argument is pretty whacked. By your logic, every time a woman uses a dildo, she's raping a man simply because it's modelled on a human male.

reply

You are an absolute idiot.

Should I ask my microwave if it consents to me putting my meat inside it?

reply

LMFAO. you are one weirdddd *beep* human being. Why would someone like you even turn on a movie with a description like this one? Take the stick outta your vag.

reply

They thought it was dead actually, so that's not rape. But to answer your question, yes rape is pretty funny outside of an actual rape scenario.

reply

i would have to say you have serious issues if you find rape to be funny, in any context. in a movie everything depicted isn't real but i can say that there is no situation where one person is being forced to have sex with another comes off as humorous. i mean would you find male on male rape entertaining? after all that is rape too and you stated you find it funny.

rape itself is an act of violence against another which would mean that there is an amount of anger associated with rape. A rapist that rapes women is actually a women hater because of perhaps abuse, or perceived abuse, that they suffered at the hands of a woman, such as their mother. the rapist wants to show the woman that they (the rapist) can do anything they want to the woman and that the woman is powerless to stop it. the rape victim in some cases can also be another man or a child.

absolutely NONE of these instances would be funny in any way whatsoever even in a movie where the viewer knows it is not real. if one does find these things funny they need to find a psychiatrist and get into therapy.

I think the two main actors are actually quite brilliant.

The skinny guy can give you a certain character type so nuanced that if you want that dark brooding sexy persona, he can level it with such subtelity that it's quite brilliant.

The more dangerous character, what a brilliant comedic gift this man has. I was watching the scene and it was the most terrible stuff I heard but i still felt that the character was a good man and to portray it saying such horrible things, I really felt that 'this is an actor'. He may not be famous today but within the industry I bet they both have a respect. But anyway, by the end of the movie, I feel what happened at the beginning is that character became a ghost... like he was having an out of body experience and he felt like he was already dead because of what happened... and he also knew the person he was talking to and in sanity they should have brought the hot bot to a hospital, but if they do the right thing they are dead... and he knows the other guy will come around eventually... but he was ghosting like stepping out of himself because the character had feelings like they are already dead for doing this, but since it's both of them, he had to give the other man an out... to break out of it, a situation that may be 'death' to them.

As the film went on and the hot bot found Christianity, it developed more serious tones. We see the true nature of the character and when he steps into himself they both are actually against such abuses and will even defend the rights of others even at great expense and dangers to themselves to help people, men and women, break free of such enslaving practices... But at the beginning of the movie, he was ghosting, so in a state of fear that it was if he was already dead... like he was a friendly ghost like Slimer or Casper but now he can't understand the concept of death because become overcome with this terror, it's like death is all there is... and he knew the other guy he was playing off of. Sometimes when we judge individuals in a duo, like business partners or a married couple, we should keep in mind that the expected outcome is based on a united message. So we may think he is a jerk or she is the b in apartment 23, but they are adjusted for the expected sway of the other individual... and that should be within our sight.

We see other more weighted comedic actors play the material in a more neutral way as if the nature of the acting would be fairly well fitted to any genre of the movie... but that shows respect for the two male leads... because it allows for their gift to pop out even more greatly.

I also want to say this but I don't know if it's worth it to take the movie to this level of reality... I think the main component of the scene is fear having a ghosting effect but there is also an issue with strange behaviors stemming from a misunderstanding. For example there is a famous psychological experiment where an authority figure tells a subject to press a button and torture a patient and the conclusion is most will, but how many will because they are confused by the experiment? Like they can't figure out if the guy is getting tortured because their nuances are not picking up on certain fears... they can't figure out what is going on because they are having a mistunderstanding that is making some of them act strangely. Now what would you do if you hit a hot bot with your car? Now I think the sleazier lead was overcome by fear that made him start ghosting, but her being a robot made it so wierd... like there is that component that they are dead anyway so what would happen since we are already dead dragging a dead body back home for brooding lead's parents to find? Like they are dead anyway so what does it matter.... but if you can't say it's a robot and then you don't take it to a hospital, what about the fear of having to accept a new reality bringing a senator's high tech sex robot to a hospital, and now you have to accept that the terminator is more real than you ever imagined... I mean I'm sure at this time the product was not well known and senator didn't unveil it himself until the end of the movie so it was still big news and high technology but the beginning cusp of it... but the situation is so strange that the other issue is they are thinking 'is this real'. They may not do certain things in normal circumstances but they want to test reality... but if it was a more real situation we know they are not guys of that type for real by the end of the movie. Great film. And I'm going to keep my out on them. I don't know if they will be big or mid but if they're mid they middle well respected. They will get their respect when it counts more to the more savvy.

But getting back to the movie, the materializability of the situation (what would even be possible for them to actually do) with the unprocessing of how much new reality they would have to accustom themselves to fully processing what's going on, and the fear, it just made them act hokey... but it's not the same as if it could have been.

The situation at the beginning of the movie was quite unbelievable but the two men were of good moral fiber for a movie for a movie of this type and even as the sex robot proved herself to be more humanoid, she was given more respect and protection from courage. Surreality and fear can make us do strange things, and when mixed, maybe even stranger still...

This is an excellent film and quite frankly the best movie I've seen in the robotic sex slave genre since Weird Science (excluding stuff like Blade Runner final cut). It was quite refreshing that they were more interested in making out and going out on a couple dates but had natural fears about experience such pleasures with a humanoid and developing such a strong emotional bond without the discernment of knowing if this is even a worthy investment... catching feelings. Maybe Hot Bot will start a trend and the next couple years sex slave robot movies will have more heart and better moral fiber. It's refreshing.

Not that it makes it any better, but they thought she was dead, not unconscious.
And the fat kid was essentially suggesting that the skinny kid to have sex with her body before she went cold.
