I reviewed it.......

My review is on my blog, I'll post the first bit here; I would really appreciate feedback guys! :) I really liked this one!

"Stranger By The Lake" is a meditative observation of loose, impersonal sex (yes I realize that is a gross oxymoron) and contemporary loneliness and depression. The film is more relevant now than ever. Most relationships people have now are depthless and formal, not to mention self-serving.

There is also the beautiful idea, best expressed by Henri, that a relationship can take many different forms, beyond classification (bound with the correct notion that sexuality cannot be categorized.) As Henri says matter-of-factly, "You don't have to *beep* someone to sleep with them."

Interestingly, in counterpoint to what you quote Henri saying, Michel says, "We can have great sex without eating or sleeping together".

The movie has some good points about how indifferent, and cold gay life can be sometime, and the sadness of people who live their life never being able to accept who they really. Other than that I thought it was way to slowwwww. I think the only reason most people gay people like it is because of the sex scenes. This is one of the reasons I stay clear of gay themed movies. They are too one dimensional. I like to think that i'm a little broader than that.

Agreed. One dimensional indeed. While the first third of the movie was compelling, as it progressed I couldn't get over the feeling that the "mystery" was just tacked on so the film maker could justify the continuous sex. Really devolved into a one trick pony of sex scenes, with little or no dramatic payoff.
