The diminished roles of the guys kind of ruined the balance

The first movie didn't dwell too long on any of the characters because there were so many characters that were given their fair share of scenes. The Kendrick boyfriend character was reduced to a cheerleading cardboard cutout. Also in the first movie, the guys actually had better performances. Here , we got too much of the ladies very average state performances.

I wasn't paying too much attention but, was Kendick's character still with the boyfriend in PP2? I don't remember seeing them interact too much.

reply

They didn't interact much, there was reason for them to be the film.

reply

I was also confused by this choice. They left alot of resources unused.

reply

They were relegated to cheerleaders in the 2nd movie which was a bad idea. I hope they make them relevant in the third movie.

Yes. I agree. I am a Treblemakers fan and the song they sang during orientation was an atrocious choice although well performed.
I guess they made room for Das Soundmachine.

I did not like this. They really underused Beca's boyfriend. I felt like Bumper and Benji actually had larger roles than him. And the one song the Treblemakers got sucked (and I actually like the singer Mika, that song was just such a random choice and felt out of place).
