Hailee Steinfeld was awful in this

I think she did good in this.

I don't think she was bad. It's just that having seen her in True Grit, we know she can steal every scene if she wants to. Here working in an ensemble, she chose to play it perhaps too plain, but blending in with the cast was surely a choice not an accident of bad acting.

I thought she played her character just fine.

In my opinion, her character sucked. Either it was poorly written or poorly acted. She was annoying. I also just saw her in a new version of Romeo and Juliet and she was by far the worst actress in the movie. I think she got lucky with True Grit, ever other movie she's done has been mediocre, including this one. If I'm being 100% honest I'm still only halfway through the movie and don't even feel like finishing it. The first one was so much better. I really hope they don't make a 3rd one.

I like the idea of her character, but the writing and chemistry isn't quite there.

She was okay, the problem was her character just wasn't very interesting. That scene in the riff off where she starts singing Flashlight out of nowhere, now that was cringeworthy.

Remember though, Anna Kendrick's character in the first movie was not very likeable, being a rather self centered person who was emotionally unavailable to others. But she had changed by the end.

I think she was very sweet! 😇

Was she ever good in anything? Every time I see her, I find her terrible. Then I check imdb to see who she is (because she's also completely forgettable" and I go "oh her again. Yeah she sucks"
