Holy crap this was awful

The first movie was so great - funny, charming, heart-warming, with great tunes and actual humor.

This was just garbage. Almost no one in my theater laughed. The jokes fell flat. (Falling down a staircase! SO HILARIOUS!!! If you're 4.) Fat Amy was gross and obnoxious. Barely any Jesse. The girls bonding felt forced. And the music was disappointing.

Cool story, bro.

So where did the high score for this movie come from? Did you know this site offers producers "pay for play" services that allows them to fix scores here?

This sequel was mostly putrid. The first 30 mins were some of the worst scenes in movie history. Only the sing-off between the various teams at the strange club event in the middle of the film was great. The competition at the end, while not terrible, was rather mediocre save for the performance by the German team.

PP2 felt like the poor collision of three different movies, and I'm sure that was how it was shot. But the end result SHAMES both the director and writers.

Please offer any evidence you have regarding score fixing.

A big player like Universal probably even has interns doing it but I'm sure the score didn't even need to be fixed. 6.5 is the imdb score you get when fangirls with extremely low standards (music! friends! I loved the first one!) vote 10 and everyone else votes 1.

I agree. And the story was all over the place. I only laughed at Fat Amy and Bumper together.

I had the exact opposite experience. We were all laughing and having a great time.

I was disappointed. It felt entirely forced, like they had to cobble a movie together really quick and just didn't really succeed. There were highs, but they just trailed off without being explored. Jesse felt like a puppy dog that was in the film because there would have been questions if he wasn't, but he was entirely insignificant to it. Amy's lines were mostly forced too, rarely actually funny, although some snuck out. And I know Rebel has a decent voice, but it was not on show here at all. It sort of was going somewhere, but then it was all just about that one performance, with no real suggestion of how their lives were going to continue.

As for DSM, they were good, but really stereotypically German sounding in their songs. I don't know if that was on purpose, but it was tired, pretty quickly. Everything they sang sounded the same.
