I just wonder who pays when these skiers end up in the hospital?

I know McConkey had survived many mishaps and even broke his pelvis. An operation like that could easily cost $100,000.

I doubt very much they can get health insurance, and they don't make big money.

I tried to find his net worth but came up with no info because he is dead.



He probably had coverage thru sponsor or family money. I know nothing about the guy asides from this movie, but he was at the top of his profession since the 90s I think, so my guess is he had some good coverage.

I was thinking the same thing

his premiums would be huge if he could have even gotten insurance
