This game blows it with New Game Plus.


If I'm playing New Game Plus, I expect to have all of my weapons shortly after I start. I beat the game on Normal and even finished all of the Most Wanted listed aside from Enigma.

I was planning to grab data packs as I came across them in places like the boat and the hotel but - no - the game won't let me have the gadgets I rightfully unlocked the first time through. No glue grenades or anything.

Arkham City let you have them as soon as you put on the suit.

No, Arkham City was the same way.

They limit your gadgets in New Game + because several of those key items are story driven. If you already have the glue grenade, there would be no need to go back to the Batcave and reclaim the flash grenade in order to sneak into Gotham PD; etc.

That said, I would love a New Game ++ type of version where you do have all of your gadgets and upgrades and can speed through the game for fun.

What version of Arkham City were you playing?

I've played through that game and NGP multiple times and I always had everything from the previous playthrough. They were just temporarily disabled at certain points (like how you can use the Remote Electrical Charge up until you go into the factory and have to find the doctor. At that point it is temporarily disabled, but you still have it.


In fact, you have the Line Launcher the minute you put the suit on in NGP and you still get the cutscene with Robin.

Update: Just played through a Normal game. Started NGP immediately. The very moment after he puts on the suit and then uses the cryptographic sequencer to hack Tyger comms and find out that Catwoman is in the courthouse, you have everything. Line Launcher, Remote Electrical charge, Freeze grenades, the whole works.
