Leo

Okay, Leo has no backbone. It is getting annoying. Emily is supposed to wear his mother's old gown just cause she says so. And, he just says sorry. Ugh.

I believe most TV movies are annoying with such lines as you indicate. However, I don't nit pick lines so much as the story as a whole. Both Leo and Emily were true to themselves. I couldn't help, but wonder if Princess Diana would have liked this movie for the very fact that it was relaxing the royal traditions by a commoner and winning over many fans staff and other commoners. I would have made Galina a born royal and made the adoption more of a supporting fleshed-out story. As a whole it was a decent TV movie.

Leo wasn't true to himself through most of the movie. He claimed that he loved Emily more than anything, but he was more than willing to go along with what his mom planned regardless of the affect that it had on Emily. A horse ride with his Mom and ex-girlfriend. A dinner party where he sits next to his ex-girlfriend far away from his current girlfriend. Going along with his mom forcing his girlfriend to wear his mom's old dress. Plus, countless of his mom's snide remarks made about his girlfriend. He didn't tell his mom nor his ex that the behavior was unacceptable and needs to stop. That is not the behavior of someone who supposedly loved his girlfriend more than anything.

Hell even the ex- girlfriend could see how much he loved Emily and told his mother that Leo really loves her b/c the way he looks at her. RIGHT THERE the mother should've stopped her evil agenda and should want her son to be happy w/Emily; everyone else there really were drawn to Emily as well, b/c she didn't treat the "help" like they were nobodies Emily treated them w/respect and became friends w/them. The ex-girlfriend should've taken her own advice and backed off of Leo as well. I guess its part of the movie that makes you want to watch - plus I adore Lacey Chabert so much, she's a southern girl just like me - She is from Miss. and I am from Louisiana (New Orleans)-- we are practically neighbors (lol) - I also have relatives who live in Mississippi such a great place to live, and I had fun visiting there when I was much younger.

I also just love Lacey Chabert since "Party of Five", she was so cute as a child and has blossomed into a beautiful woman; so anytime I see she's in a movie and/or a television show I watch it.
