Question about before the accident - spoilers

I'm still confused, did she have him kidnapped and thinking he was her husband before they kidnapped that little girl? Before the accident she says something to him about still being confused or something about his head bothering him still. I don't think he got amnesia from the accident, I think it was from the ketamine she was giving him. I've heard of it before so I looked it up and it mostly used to cause an amnesia effect during and after procedures and surgeries.

I assumed they were a couple, she wanted a child, and together they decided to kidnap a wealthy man's daughter for money. I was thrown off about the "being confused" remark she made in the car. Cause me some doubt.]

I'm definitely not sure.

My take was that they were married and she was infertile. Scared of he not wanting to go through with the kidnap she uses the Ketamine to keep him confused while waiting for the ransom (which we hear about in the cop's first phone call). So her plan is to get the money, have the fertility treatment and get pregnant from her husband.

Makes sense to me in a sort of standard psycho barking mad way...

That makes sense, I didn't think about it that way. I think that's a good point and maybe the reason she didn't want him to remember because then he would remember he didn't want to kidnap her.

But he knew what he was doing. He even said I don't think we should do this. And she had the OTHER dead man in her basement---as if she collects husbands trying to get pregnant.

Personally I don't think he ever really was her husband. Just another poor guy she drugged into thinking he was. Not sure about how he went through with the whole kidnapping thing, maybe she kept drugging him the whole time---and thats why he had the accident? Then how did she not get hurt??? At all?

This movie was rubbish.

I also think that the house was not even hers! She somehow killed the real owners and staying there as if she was the owner.
