Sure it's not the original but it definitely stands on it's own. It keeps the tone of the original but manages a completely different pace. If anything, it's too short. The return of some characters is nice but it REALLY needed a matthew lillard cameo for the best fan service possible. I think he is trapped in scooby doo purgatory.

This one won't be remembered as fondly as the original but it's far from a bad sequel. It might also help that I went into it with rock bottom expectations being a big fan of the original. The minute I saw there was a sequel I didn't even want to give it a chance. I'm glad I did though. It's worth the hour it takes to watch.

Agreed. If it was a standalone movie I'd think "that wasn't half bad, decent soundtrack, very watchable movie".
Heroin Bob was perfect and a welcome nod to the original. The other original characters were forced but nice to imagine some of them remaining close, especially since this varied group of people didn't seem particularly close in the original and only really seemed to have Lillard's character in
common. But that's how life is. Familiar faces become like family given enough time.
