Based on the Brit show from the 70s??

There's very little information so far, I was just wondering how close to the British show of the same title that this will be?

reply

Haha, I doubt it but great opening thread for this board.

Tyler Perry's version of the same title is NO WHERE on the level as the original.

The show was supposedly based on the British sitcom titled "LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR"(hince the spelling here of the word "Neighbour" and its American version of the word "Neighbor") that was produced for Thames Television that ran for 4 seasons and a total of 57 episodes were produced from 1972-1976 in color(its original first season was for 21 episodes). The series was shown once on American Public Television(PBS) during the late-1970's as part of its late night line-up of British comedies.

Produced by Thames Television of England...the same production company that also brought American audiences the wildly popular "Benny Hill Show"

The British version of this series was sort of like Britain's answer to "All In The Family" where it was highly controversal and procative due to its subject matter.

Tyler Perry's version is NO WHERE close to this British version. Nor it is not even the least bit funny neither. A laugh track to every episode? Really?

You do realise that 'All In The Family' was based on the British series 'Til Death Do Us Part'?
