So when is Dead Snow 3 coming out?

I've just watched some really bad horror films and need to cleanse my palate...

Wirkola is working on Hansel n Gretel 2, slated for 2016. So it'll be a while before we see Part 3.

Not the greatest news as I wasn't a fan of HnG 1 - it was okay. Odd that the Dead Snow(s) are so much better than the bigger budget HnG.

So it looks like Wirkola is off HnG2!!!!

Dead Snow 3 please...or some equally entertaining movie!!!!

After Dead Snow 2 I am worried about them making another one and not sure there needs to be one. This was a perfect ending to the series. Seriously I gave it a 10/10! How can they give me more than that?

reply

I didn't give it 10/10, but, yes, I don't really see how they could make a third movie without doing something really stupid ('oh no, we really didn't kill them after all') or repetitive ('ok, you killed one group of nazi sombies, but now there's another!').

reply

More likely they'll make the next one a crossover with another franchise, like Trollhunter or something.

I think I know precisely what I mean when I say it's a shpadoinkle day!

I would love to see a third film (and the post credits scene opens the door for one). I can say without a doubt that these films are up there with the original Evil Dead films. Definitely one of the greatest zombie films ever. And reminiscent of the golden era of horror films during the 70's and 80's. This one was not as dark and foreboding as the first, and is kind of what Army of Darkness was to the original Dead films. It has a lot of humor but in no way is it for the faint hearted. Just bucket loads of gore.

Brilliantly executed set pieces and truly inventive film-making. Even though it borrows from other classic zombie films it never comes off as derivative. I would take another installment to the series over any of the crud Hollywood is churning out these days in the horror genre. My respect goes out to Norwegian filmmaking.
