Adorable!

Saw this last night kind of by accident. We got the times mixed up and the movie we wanted to see wasn't playing, and this was the only other movie playing at the time. None of us knew anything about it, but we figured...we're already here...let's watch it. What an unexpected surprise! Adorably sweet very funny, and heartwarming. It's a bit predictable, but if you want a warm, light, feel good movie, this is great! Not at all what I expected from the poster at the theater.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I saw the preview, I thought it looked like a good one to rent.

Unfortunately, looks like other people thought the same thing. This past weekend, it earned only $8738 in 220 theaters -- that's a dreadful $40 per theater.

Certainly a film's box office has nothing to do with its quality, but when a movie drops over 90% in the same number of theaters during its second weekend...

That usually means people said "Skip it" or "Wait for the video"

Honestly, I think a lot of it is lack of advertising. I hadn't even heard about it, until we went to the theater and it was the only thing playing that we hadn't seen. Everyone I have told about it in my circle hasn't heard of it either. It's not going to be winning any awards or anything like that, but it's a sweet, enjoyable, funny movie that would be perfect for a date night out. I'm in a movie club, and we go to the movies at least once a week, often twice, and I had seen NOTHING for this movie. Not one trailer, not even a poster hanging in the theater. Of course the sales are going to be low if no one knows about it.

So strange for the distributor to dump it into a couple of hundred theaters and not make some effort to promote it. They might as well have released it straight to video.

Like I said, I did see a trailer at the theater maybe a month ago...but it's not playing anywhere near me. I'll eventually see it though, and thanks for sharing your opinion 😃

That's another thing... there are like 6 theaters in a 10 mile radius in my town, and only one is playing it. It just didn't have a big distribution. It's sad, because it's so freaking cute! And Vinay Virmani is just fantastic. It was also good to see Kunal Nayar take on a different persona than Raj. He was SO funny.

I will say this though... if there is one thing I would nitpick in the movie, and only because I relate on a personal level... were the fat jokes. There's a character that's a large woman and there's quite a few scenes that are just basically making fun of her, and being a large woman myself, they made me very uncomfortable, and quite frankly a little insulted. I did my best to put it aside, because I really did greatly enjoy the rest of the movie. But, it did bother me a bit.

I am halfway through it and I find the movie quite entertaining! I was drawn to it because of Kunal Nayyar, being a fan of 'Raj' of TBBT, but along with Kunal, Vinay Virmani and the cast of the movie has kept me interested so far! I honestly didn't see any promos for the movie (and I stay keeping up with IMDb trailers!), which is a shame but I am glad I was able to catch this online.
