Fraudulent User Reviews

Funny how the six glowing user reviews of this movie were all written by people who just happened to sign up for IMDb today. There should be some sort of waiting period after sign-up before you can post your first review, to keep people in the film industry from creating a dozen different accounts to fraudulently review their own movie with.

The fact that "2 different reviewers" say the audience "was in splits" does sound suspect...I never heard that term until now.

Thanks to all of you for the sleuthing. I was thinking about going to see this. I read the reviews linked to, and probably still would have gone even though they were lukewarm. But I don't want to reward this sort of shenanigans with my movie ticket money.

I saw it and thought it was super cute and really funny. Definitely worth watching.

I agree it's annoying but putting a waiting period won't stop people that are intent on posting fraudulent reviews, they'll just sign up earlier and such. It might stop some trolls that just thinks it's funny since they'll just move on to something else instead of waiting.

The reason they do it is clearly because it IS effective and they rarely get caught. Maybe you could sort user reviewers in "new" and "trusted" categories where only the people that have posted a lot of reviews that's been well received gets counted early on and then X amount of time after the movie have been released you start counting the rest, giving the 10/10 reviews much less effectiveness or something.

I don't trust an IMDB rating until there have been at least a few thousand votes.

Horribly offensive to the viewer, and mediocre movie-making. I gave it a 3/10. I seldom go that low.

I thought it quite humorous and gave it 6

I would rate it a solid 4.5/10.

Not good writing, cliched, not particularly funny.

Finally caught up with this little movie & yeah, the good actors were VERY let down by terrible editing & a script that completely misjudged their audience. We get it. Those of us watching are either Indian, have Indian Family or close Friends - you don't have to slam us over the head. It had a few sweet moments, Vinay Virmani is adorable & it was a nice change to see Kunal Nayyar *finally* score some babes.
