I bought the dvd a while back and finally started watching it.

I am half way through the second episode and I don't have a clue what is going on.
DON"T TELL ME,I will watch the rest but it is obviously not a straight forward hospital drama.

I am enjoying it so far but I see that it did not get a second series.

I expected people on here to complain about everybody smoking all the time,but it is set in 1961,many people smoked,even doctors,there is some drunk driving in this as well.

One thing I must mention is that people in the script keep mentioning the new NHS,well it was set up in 1948 so in 1961 it was not that new,and did people say NHS as much as we do today,I recall older people talking about getting things on the National Health because they recalled when they had to pay for stuff.
