In AHH2, malcom queationed why they are still making scary movies without the wayans. I laughed hard when I heard this because I hated scary movie after 3, and I thought this line was gold.

The Weinsteins wanted to take the franchise in another directions (ie PG-13 territory) and pretty much stole it right out from under them.

if you watch the behind the scenes for Scary Movie 2, they both explain how they didn't even want to make a second one at first. They didn't really have an idea of what to do right after scary movie 1,
And they joke that it was the money the studio gave them that was the reason they made the movie. I'm sure the money was not the only reason, but they did talk about how they just wanted to make 2 movies and do something else.

Just 10min of AHH2 is 100% better then scary movie 4 and 5 combined.

the last scary movie was ATROCIOUSLY lame, I walked out after 15 minutes. They not only got rid of the wayans but they also lost the characters Brenda and Cindy who made these movies.

They never were the same without the wayans.

I had to rewind that to make sure I heard it properly. Brilliant, and so true.

Scary Movie 1 and 2 are masterpieces in comparison to 3, 4 and especially 5.

The tagline to the first Scary Movie was something like "No survivors. No sequels". The first movie intentionally killed off all the main characters so there wouldn't be a sequel. They somehow ended up making another one, but that was it. I doubt there would have ever been a Scary Movie 3 if they hadn't sold the rights.

Scary Movie 1 being the best, I do think part 3 was pretty damn funny.

I miss the Wayans versions of the Scary Movies. Don't get me wrong, I did like 4 and 5 but they were never the same.

I always thought the Wayans had well thought out stories and great jokes.

After the 3rd, they just became more childish
