How does lautner

Get acting gigs? The guy is horrible, as wooden as it gets. A,aging someone sitting around thinks "you know, lautner would be PERFECT for this"

reply

That's a strange thing to say, given that it looks like he's given a great performance judging by the trailer.

You judged his acting by a 2 minute trailer? You sir, loss all credibility when it comes to movies and intelligence.

Don't get hurt kid. I'm not your daddy, I'll beat you senseless.

reply

The film was released on the 2nd December 2016 and I made my post (in reply to another) on the 28th November 2016, so obviously my comments were based on the trailer.

I was replying to someone's negative comments about Taylor Lautner who in their post didn't make any indication of having even watched the trailer. A trailer which received many positive comments about Taylor's acting on YouTube.

I was wondering if the OP had even seen the trailer before making their comments, hence my post.

So yes, if you like, you can say I have lost all credibility when it comes to movies.

And yes, you can say I have no intelligence.

But personally I think I will leave it for others to judge who is the most intelligent out of the two of us :-)

So excited to see this film. Looks like jealous actors/critics probably twice his age, are still at it, lol.
Get a life. Taylor is here to stay and so are his fans.

reply

Google "funny abduction movie reviews". He gets savageda rightfully so

reply

For sure Abduction might not have been Taylor's finest hour, but I just don't understand people arbitrarily trotting out the 'Taylor's a terrible actor' line and referring to Abduction every time he has a new project released.

Do these people think that acting is the first and only career where a person cannot learn their trade, develop their skills and grow?

Abduction was five years ago now and to my eyes Taylor has become a stronger actor with each new role he has taken on since then.

Yes he was savaged in the reviews for Abduction, but just compare the reviews his acting is getting now for Run The Tide with those for Abduction and it's clear that even the critics who love to savage him are beginning to recognise he's developing as an actor.

Like many a good-looking young male actor, Lautner benefits from the hints of deeper character that a little aging has brought. Allowed to be scruffier (and hairier) than usual here, he immediately seems more of an actor to be reckoned with, less of a teen-mag-friendly hunk.

I always knew that Lautner could be a solid actor if given the right material or taken seriously, as it’s clear that Run the Tide is his finest work to date. When not relied upon for his comedic chops or muscular looks, Lautner proves to be a competent actor who conveys desperation, frustration, and determination within his character very convincingly. Let’s hope that future directors catch a hold of Lautner’s work here, because he has all the makings of a comeback if given the proper projects.

You're probably right that he's a stronger actor. It was literally impossible for him to get any weaker

reply

Something tells me you would rather cut off your own arm than pay Taylor a compliment lol.

Maybe not an arm, but I'm definitely not going out of my way to compliment that square head troglodyte

reply

Oh well, each to their own I guess. I'm just happy the film is out and people can judge for themselves by actually watching his performance :-)

0% on RT. I have not seen a good review yet. But if you are a Lautner fan you can still go and support him and enjoy his movies. I am not a real big fan but this movie was not as bad as critics make it out to be. I liked it and I thought Taylor's acting was adequate. Don't listen to critics. Decide for yourself. Oh and another thing. When they said limited they weren't kidding. I had to make a 50 min drive to the theater to see this thing and there were only two showings.

reply

This wasn't bad at all. I dont care what the critics on RT say. This borders on professional bullying. These critics don't want Taylor to go past Twilight. They don't really want to see him doing character driven roles. They complained he was a nice looking guy with great abs and that's it.Even though Jacob was an Iconic role. And it wasn't his choice to be constantly shirtless. He's was just doing his job. Then when he has other projects that come out with interesting storylines, they complain he doesn't show his body enough. They act like they want to sleep with him instead of really critiquing his work honestly. I hope he continues to do these different roles and that critics will realize what his fans already know. He's a good actor and charismatic.

reply

He doesn't. Look at his career, without Twilight it is basically non-existent. You have a small handful of Lautnerettes here on IMDB swoon over the tiny little roles he gets in these straight to dvd movies. Those who do start those "he would be great for this role" threads. He is such a bad actor (you're right, he's a totem pole actor, stiff as a board) he'll never ever get any kind of major acting role again.

reply

Well I ain't got no crystal balls and you might be right, maybe he won't land another blockbuster role. I reckon he's going to be acting for a long time yet though, assuming he wants to, given that he can now afford to never act again.

Whether the roles are big or small probably doesn't matter. The way I see it, at the age of 24 he's already experienced huge success, appeared in 12 or more films and achieved a global level of fame. That's the kind of success most actors would give their right arm for.

reply

And he needs a major role... why exactly? He has nothing to prove to you or anyone else for that matter. He is happy doing what he is doing and people still watch his work and enjoy it. As long as that is true, it doesn't matter if he is cast in a blockbuster or not. He doesn't need one. He is an established actor, a household name and a gazzilionaire that has achieved more success and has had better roles than some actors can dream of.

reply

He will continue to do small films that will only show in about 10 theatres and get a rating of 0%-5% on RT. He will continue to to that BBC show and he will get roles on American TV shows. He is still productive. He's wealthy so he can take his time and decide which roles suit him. Pretty much like the Harry Potter kids.

reply

Doesn't sound too bad when you put it like that, continuing to work in a job he loves :-)

There's always going to be little teenage girls that would keep this talentless guy relevant. Lets just hope Hollywood forgets about him soon.

Don't get hurt kid. I'm not your daddy, I'll beat you senseless.

reply

Surely as he gets older and less talented, if that is even possible, the teenage girls will fall by the wayside and start cheering for another mannequin body and mannequin acting ability douche
