I think, in my humble opinion, this series resembles Broadchurch. Young boy goes missing, found dead, DI has emotional issues, blame the parents or troubled teen, so far haven't blamed a homeless person. Broadchurch first season was 6 episodes and this one only 3.

It was written to capitalize on the same type of audience as Broadchurch.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

I agree. Very much Broadchurch and very much not as good. A waste of time.

It was actually filming at the time when Broadchurch came out. ITV was a bit naughty but then they commissioned both of them.
