The scene in the forest with the men in uniforms

After Marco has moved into the apartment there is a scene of several men in camouflage uniforms finding Joseph's bicycle in a forest and showing it to Raphaëlle. What is that all about? A dream by Marco or Raphaëlle?

I just watched it and come to the same conclusion, that it must have been a dream. But then again, I'm not at all sure.

Another question is: who took Justine from the car, after the accident? A passerby?

This movie never even achieved the status of a story well-told. I hope the director, the producers, and the editors had the decency NOT to take any money for making this mess!

I agree. It could have been so much better, but instead we get one scene tacked onto another with no explanation or lead up as to what's happening. And the ending -- really made me wish I hadn't wasted my time on this incomprehensible story.

Reading an interview with Denis she said that scene was meant to be a fantasy of Marco’s. He’s dreaming of revenge by kidnapping the boy and imagining how distraught Raphaelle would be.
