The actual original ending before Paul Walker died

The original script is mostly the same but for with a few differences
-Sean was going to have a big part, he was going to join the team in rescuing Ramsey, heading the Abu Dhabi and the final sequrnce in LA.

-Hector was going to have more than a cameo, he was going to help the team in their fight with Shaw and Jakande at the end.

-For the ending, the crew celebrate in a diner and Hobbs shows up with the secretary of defense who gives Dom a clean record, but Dom decides that he and the crew are going to be outlaws much to Hobbs' dismay throwing the clean record out of the window. Dom gives the secretary the God Eye, which turns out to be a fake and instead it's a video of Roman dancing.
-Dom and the team then use the map of the God's Eye to know where they want to go to next, Brian asks this to Dom, but Letty repsonds by saying "Let fate decide".

-In the post credits scene, Deckard is revealed to have survived the rubble and instead disappeared and sitting in a room with past villains from previous movies, Johnny Tran from TFATF, Carter Verone from 2F2F, Braga from F&F4 and surprisingly Zizi from FF5. A mysterious woman (possibly Charlize Theron) enters the room and tells them that they have work to do.

I'd say the initial final draft (before PW died) they took Sean out and reduced him to a cameo, same with Hector.

Very interesting.

wonder why would they would choose not do that scene with the previous villains?

reply

So they were going to have retcon the first movie by having Johnny Tran survive? I'm not so sure I believe that part. Verone and Braga I can buy, but not Tran and Zizi.

reply

That would make this series unrealistic because ZiZi and Johnny Tran clearly died in their movies. I like more realistic movies which is why I think the series is perfect as is

reply

Ehh, this is the same series that sent two black dudes into a makeshift space-car to blow up a satellite. This series jumped the shark a while back and at this point it's a live-action cartoon and has been for some time (I think Fast Five was the last generally good Fast & Furious film).

They explained how the make shift car made it to space, so that seemed believable to me. Maybe an astronaut can better explain? I don't know any personally

reply

I don't remember too many details about the car, but without a fully welded in and sealed off interior, the compression leaks likely would have caused it to completely dismantle once it reached the exosphere.

I sent an e mail in to NASA about the logistics of that scene and to see if its a realistic possibility. I'll wait for their response
