I don't know about everyone else but when I hear of an illegal event called "race wars" I don't think of a bunch of different race people racing cars I think of white and black power gangs having a fight, I'm sure the event would attract the wrong kind of people.
shareRace Wars is not illegal. It's pretty much a legal street meet event... you know like actual circuit racing except it's in the dessert. In the first movie, the event had everything, including security guards and cars being registered (numbers on cars etc...).
