The cat

Why do they always kill the pets? And to be honest, the owners never really look like they are upset about loss of pet. Quit killing of the animals!!!

reply

I totally agree. Kill all the people you like, but leave the innocent animals alone!!

I feel the same way and I knew it was coming when they made the cat such a prominent character. Sick.

reply

oh yes! I get to hate it when there is a pet in a movie, because i know there is a good chance the poor animal won't make it to the end. I know it is not real and many movies tell you "no animal has been hurt" etc, but it sets a very bad example and makes me sad anyway. I am willing to boycott all movies where a pet gets killed. Maybe if a lot of people dd the same, it would change the sick thinking of the scenarists.
Anyway, I am glad to find people who react like I do.

I'm about 40 minutes into this movie and I think, "They better not kill the cat." So, to eliminate the surprise I come on to see and learn that they kill the cat...
Well, they lost me as an audience member. Lifetime movies really like to kill off the pet huh? Also, why does this skinny girl need a trainer?

reply

They're trying to copy "Fatal Attraction" and how horribly deranged one would be to kill a pet.

It's not clear at all that the psycho did kill the cat. That was her paranoid explanation but given the stupidity of the owner and her complete disregard for her cat's well-being (demonstrated by her forgetting to feed the cat, when she did feed her it was exclusively fed ice cream (apparently it didn't even occur to her to buy cat food), and the cats lack of any exercise being stuck indoors all day alone).

It's just as likely that the cat died from ill treatment and neglect but as per usual the woman first jumps to the conclusion that somebody else is to blame for all of her life's woes.

It is extremely common that the psycho kills the pet - not just on Lifetime.

The ice cream was just some idiot writer thinking that's how you give a treat to a cat.

By the way, cats live longer lives indoors. My boy died at 18.
