so disappointed. This is terrible.

I was really looking forward to this new series. I watched it tonight and did not enjoy it. I guess I don't understand what is scripted series is. Aren't all series scripted, i.e. scandal, etcetera.

With this I felt I was watching a really bland, boring reality show. The characters all look and sound the same. Very hard to get involved with any character or their drama.

Since this was scripted, I thought the characters would have more interesting things to say. This felt likeI was listening in at another table in a restaurant. I didn't know always understand what the people were talking about but I also didn't care.

The clips of the show made it look very promising. I think Bravo is really good at editing after all that reality TV they've done. I'm not sure whether this will get better or whether I will watch again

Better than I thought it would be. Bravo is billing it as "scripted" as opposed to a reality show like all the other original Bravo series.

I give it another couple of episodes even though I do not like Jeanine Garafalo. And I want to cut Charlie's hair so bad. LOL

I was disappointed also. Obvious lines with really bad acting, especially the scene at the book signing. I'll give it a try but really disappointing so far.

The show is on and I have been reading on this site. I was unable to give the first episode my full attention. I will give it another try because pilots sometime are busy providing so much background info they fail to be as good as the series. There is only one direction they can go... Up.

reply

Yeah I didn't like the first episode but I'm still willing to give the show a chance though. A part of me thinks that it's trying too hard though.

Save the date: December 31, 2014 is Cassie's big day!!!

I'm with nuksmom. The ads made it look like a sitcom, but it's not overusing the humor at all. I never watched House, and I find the lead appealing.

After watching many, many tv shows I have learned to never judge one by its pilot. Give it another episode or two.

reply

I have only watched the pilot but have to say that I was expecting a comedy like "Sex in the City" and it rang so much more flat. It needed more lightheartedness, comedy, and witty lines, and with Janeane Garafalo I had hope! Divorce unhappiness is something a lot of people have to slog thru, they tune into TV to be entertained and taken away from that.

reply

Watched another one and deleted it before the end. Will give it one more try but I just don't like the show so far.

reply

Uh oh. After liking the pilot better than I expected, I was caught off guard by the lack of humor in the next episode. Maybe I missed the one-liners this time, but suddenly the series landed flat on the ground. I'll watch one more episode and then decide if I'm staying.

I loathe Jake so much I may not be able to watch because of him. If he would get hit by a bus it would make the show a little better.

reply

I wish i could like Jake more but so far he has no redeeming qualities. He acts like he hates his wife of 17 years and mother of his kids. Said that, i really like the actor and i think the show is fantastic. I just hope this character gets a little more development and becomes more relatable.
