Nate (spoilers)

I noticed that Nate (Abby's married love interest) still had his wedding ring on. It was shown that Abby took her ring off before their first date but he still had his on. Given that it seems this relationship is over it may not come up again but I have a feeling that he didn't leave his wife and she'll somehow find out about their terrible sex and it might be used against Abby in her divorce. Thoughts? Am I reading too much into this?

I really hope Nate doesn´t come back but i think C Thomas Howell mentioned being in four episodes and right now he has appeared only in three so yeah, he´ll probably be back in the future to ruin things even more for Abby.

I was actually thinking the same! He was so glib and quick to say he'd left his wife but I didn't believe him. and its gonna come back to bite her in the butt. After NOT having a physical affair, she gave it up for that ug

Leaving aside that California is a no fault state, not sure how it could be used against Abby, since she slept with Nate after her husband moved out whereas he had been having an ongoing affair long before.

Anyway, yeah, the way Nate rushed her off when his son returned suddenly had me thinking he was lying about leaving his wife.

If I am not mistaken, Abby started the divide with an emotional affair with Nate {She's married sleaze ball}. They both agreed to see and do whoever, while going through a trial separation. That is when Jake spotted Abby talking with Nate at school and then began his physical affair with Becca. At least I think that is right? It looks to me like the trial separation to cheat was not a good idea for Jake, since their children were involved. Rule #...

Jake was sleeping with Becca before he spotted Abby at the school. In one of the very first scenes, before we even see Nate, Jake comes home and climbs into bed with Abby and she told him he "smells like sex". I forget what he replied but he didn't deny it. Also in that first episode Abby's friends were going on about how everyone knew Jake was sleeping around.

Also, after Jake saw Abby and Nate talking at the school that when they had the blow up and Jake admitted to sleeping with others (Becca?) because he didn't believe she wasn't sleeping with Nate.

Awesome, I missed the time line. I am rooting that the two find resolution because I do not know if they fell out of love, or just lost the ability to tell each other what they wanted and expected from their marriage. I for one am rooting for Abby and Jake to get their groove back. Guess I am just a hopeless romantic.

The point of Nate was to show that someone you're infatuated with may not actually be your soulmate or even be compatible with you. That was shown pretty clearly in the earlier episode. I think that's it for Nate for now, I don't think they'll do a big story line on him and he seems too wishy washy to try to sue her. He doesn't seem evil, he just seems ridiculous.

Also the show is from HER viewpoint so the storylines are about her.

BTW I keep waiting for them to say " oh you wrote the girlfriends guide to child rearing, now you're getting divorced so how about the girlfriends guide to divorce". It seems so obvious.
