He was an entitled lazy POS that decides to go on a crime spree to save the overpriced McMansion he realized he couldn't afford when he lost his job. Boo hoo.

I had absolutely no sympathy for him at all and he was just an unlikeable moron who thought the world owed him.

And please, the wife had no idea their mortgage was behind? No money in the bank? Credit cards declined? Was she even stupider than he was?

I don't think Beth was at fault. She was a stay-at-home mom and Bill did everything. She left that all up to him. I'm sure she had her own CC, but I get the impression that events happened over a very short time in this movie. She probably hadn't had the chance to get out and see that hers would be declined also.
