It is in youtube.

In fact, I was looking for Straight outta Compton but I saw this film instead, and I have to say that it was great. In fact, I have just finally seen the film I wanted to see in the first place, and I liked more Straight Outta Tompkins because as it is completely fiction, it was easier to follow. There are too many characters in the Compton film, even leaving out one of the main founders' history. No wonder they felt confused about Heller and the contracts, because I was feeling so as well.

Anyway, this film doesn't have a big budget but it´s so good, better than many of the Hollywood crap which gets released into the big screens every week. The situation in the main character's family life is a bit far-fetched, but it could have been their parents divorcing, or one of them leaving their family slamming the door. Not even his sister, who could have been his great support - hell, both could have been each other´s support system - was interested in taking care of him in any meaningful way. I liked the funny moments - the cupcakes, his friend hiding and phoning him later, the way he was introduced to teh rest of the gang members and to drugs. Obviously, things go bleaker and bleaker.

Technically, Compton is much more interesting, and the production values are better. Acting is better in Compton, specially because more is demanded of the actors. As it is fiction, Tompkins is less chaotic and easier to follow. Compton requires viewers to be a bit informed about N.W.A. and all the story of Death Records to be able to follow the plot. But on another level, Compton is better and more artistic, because life is like that: chaotic, confusing, and full of decisions that do not make a lot of sense afterwards.
