Does Marissa's husband really want to move to the US?!

When Matt was waxing poetic about moving to California I couldn't tell if he was serious or not. His famous nightclub Boujis was forced to close several times and is now being overhauled and converted to a members only type club. They did vacation in California recently, but as far as I know they returned to London.

I found it interesting that Marissa wanted to stay put...She does have a nice life, but the weather in SoCal though...

I imagine Matt wants to leave the Boujis troubles behind. Not sure when this was filmed and whether the recent election would influence them one way or another.

reply

I think Marissa wants to stay bc she worked so hard to for into British society and getting her citizenship she cried over it was so important to her

reply

Oh right I forgot she's not even an American citizen anymore! An odd time to return for sure.

Yes she's worked her way to the top in London and her place in LA is uncertain.

reply

Why doesn't she have dual citizenship? The UK and US allow it.

I missed why the club closed what happened??

A large brawl involving several people and later a fight involving two friends.

They moved! I saw her Instagram. She must have really put up a fight tho she really wanted to be British!! With 2 ladies gone I wonder is s4 will happen?

reply

WOW!

I'm sure they'll find replacements...but I feel like Caroline S. is integral. She flies back and forth a lot though so hopefully the show will continue.

reply

I hope there's a s4 I love this show

On Twitter, she said that they are keeping their house and business in London, but are now splitting their time between LA and London. I wonder how that will work if her oldest children have started school. Maybe spend the school year in one country and then summer in the other? I suspect this move is going to cause a lot of tension in her family.

reply

It might cause tension if deep down she still didn't want to move. She will have resentment towards her husband.

She had invested so much in London. All of that snooty social climbing/maneuvering is hard work . And shallow. And desperate. She even became a British citizen. I think she does and will resent the move.

reply

Oh absolutely!!!

reply

And if her husband is going to open clubs there, she'll have to deal with a bunch of Cali club bunnies chasing after her man. Isn't that kind of how she met him in London?

reply

You know I was just thinking that-- LA is full of models and wannabe actors. It's hard being married to any man there from what I hear let alone some big club owner.

I was also thinking how most of them have such normal family lives compared with the US housewives. I hope LA or US reality TV (if they become part of it) get the best of them.

reply

Yeah, that's gonna be tough! I can't really picture her on any of the housewives shows over there either.

Did he move to LA to "escape" legal problems? Is she lying when she said that she did not talk about CS's legal/$ issues?

"California Dreaming..." London is cold. FREEZING cold at times. And not an easy city to live in- the bureaucracy, the people, the money...it's hard! Especially if you are not rich.

California is far from perfect, but a lot more pleasant to live in, imho...the weather alone. Most British and Europeans would do anything to live here. Maybe that's why he married her?

reply

I love the cold, but those are all great points!

I love the cold, too. And rain -It doesn't depress me the way it does most people . London rain appears in short bouts of only 10-15 minutes at a time, so it's easy to manage. Stateside, rainstorms can last a few hours or all day with no relief.

reply

Same here! I think I have reverse SADs, or whatever it's called....or I have it in the summer sunshine. It's like I can feel the sun sucking out my life force and I don't understand how it makes people feel energized and happy. Snow makes me feel energized and happy though.

Don't know about legal issues, but I think the Ignite group may have sold Boujis as it is no longer listed on their website. Until recently, it was Matt's biggest success. Remember how Marissa boasted that you needed to be Royalty or have an Oscar to make it past the door?

London was warm compared to my home state, but I agree that it is not an easy city to live in. Property costs are absurd and it is so crowded, almost claustrophobic.
