Marissa & Caroline F. conversation??????

They keep showing flashbacks of Marissa talking about being friends with Caroline F.'s sister. I NEVER can catch what the hell they are saying. (Caroline F,. says something about her parents, and Marissa is saying something about a boyfriend she isn't a fan of)??

Can someone clarify their issue to me, please.

Tuesday nights episode, Caroline F. said she & Marissa have a rocky past (or something to that extent) and then they flashed back to this scene - I don't know if that one conversation would sum up a "rocky past", so I figured I must be missing something.

Marissa is really close friends with Caroline Fleming's sister. I think she told the sister that she'd met Caroline F's younger boyfriend and that she "wasn't a fan" of him. That statement apparently got back to Caroline F & her sister's parents (I guess the sister told them?), and apparently influenced their opinion of the boyfriend. So Caroline wasn't happy about Marissa having said something negative about her boyfriend because she'd had to defend her boyfriend from what the parents had heard.

And the reason Marissa didnt' like Caroline F's BF was because he took off in a cab without her as I recall!?!

Also, last season I recall Marissa calling Caroline F essentially a pedo because she was dating a younger man. She called him Caroline F's "boy toy" if I'm not mistaken. Obv, CF DID NOT like that.
