Hate to say this about Marissa

I liked Marissa before this season. She has been through a lot, and it has to be difficult. However, I think either they are having money problems or she isn't the devoted mother she claimed to be. Why would she leave a fragile infant that is still nursing to go to the US, and then not long after leave again to go to Scotland?! I would tell the producers to go screw if they told me I had to go. They must really need the money from the show.

I get the impression that the nanny prefers to take care of the infant without Marissa around. Perhaps the child is better off entirely in the nanny's hands.
I was also under the impression that Marissa was pumping breast milk for her baby and if this is the case, why is she drinking alcohol? - or did she stop using breast milk?

reply

I was wondering the same thing. Also, if she is having the baby blues wouldn't alcohol increase the depression even more?

reply

I couldn't believe they went to New York and left an infant -- one that had just been in the hospital -- at home! I can't imagine leaving an infant to go so far away.

The New York trip wasn't for the show, so I'm guessing that parenting isn't their No. 1 priority. I rarely judge people for their parenting, but this seems too much!

reply

Yeah, but then she is like "I don't GAF about Caroline, I'm too busy with 'is my baby going to die, am I going to die!'" yet she fecks off to NYC so fast after the baby comes back from hospital, and then up to Scotland.... so very concerned...NOT.

Season 1 I loved her, season 2 it was hit or miss because of her ego. This season, I HATEđź‘Ź HERđź‘Ź.

Wasn't the baby only a few weeks old when she went to NYC? Crazy.

reply

Yes, and the baby not only was born prematurely but had to be hospitalized very suddenly not long before Marissa went to the US.
I wonder if Marissa has issues with her own mom- who hasn't seen her own daughter's baby girl?!

reply

I was watching Eden Sassoon on RHOBH last night and she mentioned that her mother took a similar "birth trip" away from her (the Caribbean) as an infant. Even if she doesn't remember it precisely, the knowledge of it is still upsetting and haunting to her to this day. Marissa is on tape saying she did this and someday it could become knowledge to her daughter. Considering so much emphasis has been put on her and the baby...care to venture a guess on how the other children might be feeling? Nanny is not Mommy.

reply

Good point.

It really bothered me too. I mean this baby has had issues since birth. She was fine in the morning and a few hours later she had to be hospitalized. Marissa even commented that with babies they can go south so quickly.

Knowing all this, she leaves her baby to go across the ocean. I would think the family would understand you saying that you did not feel comfortable leaving such a newborn that has been sickly, and if they didn't, the heck with them.

I would not have left either of my boys at that age and they were both perfectly healthy.

reply

Yeah, it was questionable. She should realize that it's questionable and expect to hear about people questioning it. I'm surprised she even filmed this season, but I guess it's nice to get out and have a break from all that, but still....I think that I would prefer to be there with the baby in case anything went wrong and I'm not even a fan of babies.

reply

I think Eden said her mom left on a trip the day she was born - didn't she? Crazy!

reply

I feel the same. Maybe she was under some contractual obligation to go to Scotland. But it's still unthinkable to me to leave such a tiny baby.

These people with nannies may have different attitudes about leaving their young kids in a nanny's care. I still think it's a very bad idea. She mentioned post partum depression. Is a trip to Scotland away from the baby going to help? I doubt it.

reply

I really do think she had post partum depression, it can manifest in so many ways and I think for her she was a bit withdrawn but also felt guilty.

reply

I think she's just a complete beeotch. Period. She just seems to get off on being horrible, snarky, and talking about the other wives behind their backs.

You'd think she'd have a "Regarding Henry" moment and get some humility and compassion after her whole trial with the new baby, but no. She just bitched more.
