WHY DO WE THINK PATRICIA WILL NOT APPEAR ON THE REUNIONS?
My thoughts are:
She doesn't have to because people like her anyway.
Possibly her age prohibits travel.
It keeps her from answering any uncomfortable questions.
Thoughts?
She's a coward and a bully.

She just wants to be able to sit in her ugly house wearing her ugly kaftans while talking shyte about everyone and having her butler fetch her martinis. Pretty easy to trash everyone behind their backs and never get called out on it. That's why she doesn't go to the reunions.

at blonde27, I agree with your post as well. Seems as though Patricia may not take the company of women very well. Notice how she has had two male only dinner parties this season and last season. Poor Landon thinks Patricia adores her, but clearly Patricia pities her for her lack of unknowing how to woo a potential suitor. Probably the reason she is disgusted by Kathryn because she wasnt as attracted to Whitney as she was old man Thomas.

Plus she is so old, would look weird being on the couch with 20+ year olds and she is 80+.
I assume she has her own set of friends, who would never appear on a reality TV show. She is a character and I have known some women very much like her, except she has more money than most.

sharePatricia is 75. She has married a series of rich men and the house she is living in Charleston is worth 4.8 million dollars and used to be the old public library into the 60's.
Patricia is not a Charleston native,though, and she claims she is from the South but some people say she is from Florida and then married and lived in Virginia and then DC and then NYC.
Whatever.
Imo, she is playing a role on the show because she bought that house in 2008 and filled it with an ex husband's family heirlooms. She spent most of the time prior to 2008 in NYC.
Ie, she has reinvented herself--a thing gold diggers do all the time.

Whitney is one of the weirder folks on the show. He totally lives the trust fund lifestyle--has several homes even in Charleston in addition to often staying over with his mother. He does not have a job at this time.
He supposedly has had a lot of girlfriends--including Kathryn--but he seems gay to me(and a lot of other viewers) and actually to be very attached to Thomas.
Whitney hates Kathryn and Kathryn hates Whitney--I mean they loathe each other. They have had many ugly fights on Southern Charm.
That is why everyone at the Reunion was like ??? when Whitney hugged Kathryn.
I assumed he was gay too! As well as the married lawyer(?), the slightly overweight guy who usually wears a scarf with his suit. I think he and his wife were at the party when Thomas got all self-righteous about the others. If this group represents the cream-of-the-crop of Charleston, than the barrel must be shallow.

shareThe guy you are thinking of is JD Madison. JD is not a lawyer but is a restaurant/hotel owner and owns a bourbon business called Gentry Bourbon. He owns a barbershop/spa combo in town. He pretends he is really rich but rumor has it his businesses are not doing that well and he has had some lawsuits as well.
JD is an old friend of Thomas'.
I never thought JD was gay.
Now, Cooper, the fashion designer, is gay.
In the episodes I've seen, I have never seen Cooper with his boyfriend/husband. I was thinking that maybe the producers tolerate him, but not his significant other. JD, does seem to be acting like something that he isn't - rich. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll be able to see some of the earlier episodes somewhere.
