A Wonderful Suprise
Honestly this movie surprised me a lot. You have to come to expect with these sort of "creature features" to be let down in a number of categories, as was expected with this film.
Having just finished watching the film I can promise you this is in the rare 10 percent that are actually watchable. I've dedicated myself to watching low budget creature flicks over the past few years, a sad obsession yes. I've seen my fair share of god awful CGI (Dark Was the Night, Little Dead Rotting Hood), dire stories (Little Dead Rotting Hood, Feast), or characters that we would rather die than live (Exists, Little Dead Rotting Hood...seriously don't watch this movie, the title should say enough). But what I can say about this movie is that you can feel that real effort was put into this movie, we care for (most) of the characters, the story is above average (A+ for a creature feature) and the practical effects are brilliant without any crappy CGI (thank God!) this movie is genuinely creepy thanks to the use of some insane tension and a terrifying creature design so I'd honestly recommend it to anyone.
It deserves a place in that top 10 percent alongside Bone Tomahawk, The Hallow etc.
