Spoilers: The Cat's motivation made no sense

Without him killing Milo there would have been no show, but that seems to be the only motivation. Why would the cat shoot him? He worked for the guy who was in business with Milo. Milo took the boat, which didn't really bother Jesús at all. There were all kinds of sloppy things in the story, how those Dutch drug dealers found the four guys right when they were on the boat was maybe the biggest, other than the cat shooting Milo, which in the end just doesn't make sense, just a reason to ramp up the tension and push all kinds of "why's" on the viewer in the Pilot. Probably good the show didn't get a second season.

I think that not just the cat's motivation but many things did not make sense. A lot of the plot was just for the sake of extending episodes. I think this could have been a movie instead of series. I gave it a 7 on imdb just because i liked the humor and how idiotic the 4 guys were. I think this is just a simple, absurd black comedy with no real plot and has a lot of loose ends.

I do agree a lot of the plot points were a stretch. However I think there are plausible explanations despite how unlikely they are.

The Dutch drug dealers that bought the drugs probably were given a GPS tracker to the boat so only they could find the boat.

Now shooting Milo at that moment was pretty stupid on the Cat's part sense his main mission was to find the location of the boat. So maybe he should have just tortured Milo for the location then be on his way. However there maybe a reason why. Maybe Milo was seen as a liability and a loose cannon as he said he was retired. You can't retire knowing that much and being a useless asset. Second he messed up the package/mission and I'm sure with their line of work there is only a 1 strike policy (no second chances). Third maybe the Cat saw from the habour video or witnesses stated that 5 men left the dock with the boat. So the cat knows the 4 friends know where the boat was. So Milo was unnecessary. Milo had to be disposed of anyways and what better way to do it than to kill him in front of the four friends to show that you mean business (intimidate them) and extract the info (boat whereabouts).

Plus maybe the Cat thought the friends were more trustworthy. Milo already jerked the Cat and Company around so who knows if Milo was going to carry on the charade even further and feed the Cat misinformation. Plus maybe the Cat was trying to give them motivation. If the Cat just requested the location of the boat and says he will be back later they might not take it serious. However if the Cat kills someone, says he is with the police and takes DNA to frame one of them if they don't comply then I would say they are highly motivated. They have no choice but to take the Cat's order and find a way whatever it takes to get the job done.
