@+$? going to Belize

Lol if I was thinking of visiting, I just changed my mind ?

Me too! I was wondering what the lure is for so many Americans to go and retire there. I understand that their retirement earnings can give them more and a better quality of life down there but is it the lawless Wild West of yesteryears? If it was the scenery that originally drew you to wanting to go there I believe that a lot of this was filmed in Puerto Rico. In going to many countries one has to be careful of what their laws and customs entail.

As long as you stay out of the slums and don't get involved with the wrong people; it really is paradise on Earth. You're not really going to judge a country based on a hyper realistic black comedy are you?

I've traveled through a few countries in South America and seen a lot worse. Just don't want to deal with any drama anymore and hate it when it's the police or government that's the hassle. No, I do not pick where I go based on telly or books. Usually choose because there's something I want to see.

Strangely, I now want to go now!

Its mostly all BS !, I have spent 16 Years in Belize traveling, outside of Belize City, the country in general is pretty safe compared to most of Central America and or much of Los Angeles or Chicago. Too bad for the overwhelmingly friendly Belize people that depends so much on the tourist economy, to get such a fake rap. PS,I have yet to see a scene that was actually Belize, looks like it was filmed in Puerto Rico.
