best consumer show i've seen in years

best consumer show i've seen in years..

good pace, funny and ironically but still on a reasonable level.

it's a shame my country (germany) tv with heavy public license fee doesn't managed to make something like this.

how popular is this show in australia?

It is a very good show. It's on our major government channel (ABC) which isn't chasing ratings. The Checkout is one its higher rating shows with around 900,000 viewers on any particular night. I'm not sure how those figures compare with European ratings, but they are very healthy figures here.

I love the show. You're sure to learn something while you get a good laugh. A sketch from a couple of months ago, 'if purchasing your fruit was like purchasing Pay TV... The guy comes in to buy a banana, but is given a grungy onion and two stale apples... To buy the banana he had to sign up for the 'basic' package and then pay more for exactly what he wanted...

With all the controversy about us pirating Game of Thrones in many ways linked to how Foxtel sell their packages.... No excuse, I know, but it does go a long way to explaining the behavour. Anyway, check it out, if you can.

Not as popular as it should be. I live in Australia and the only reason I was able to find it was via ABC's on demand video service.

If you like this type of presenting, check out Julien Morrow's imdb history and watch some of the shows he has been involved in. In particular check out all the Chaser stuff and CNNNN.

Here is a typical sketch:
