They cranked up the dramatic sound effects to try to mask the fact that this was a boring / weak episode.

Looked like a mash up with The Walking Dead, I agree. All way too simple and easily resolved.
shareI'm watching season 6 now and I worry it's losing it's mojo. I'm watching a scene right now where music is being played behind an interrogation, and it takes away from the grittiness and immediacy.
This is one thing I really hated about Criminal Intent. At the end of the show they always had an emotional take down of the perp, complete with some one-note soundtrack that was supposed to ramp it up, but became a recognizable formula.
