"This is a true story"

I'm seeing a lot of you struggle with the "plot" of the series. Most are forgetting that the theme for this whole series is "LIES".

There are numerous unexplainable moments in the series (logistically placed), so when I see people asking "how did he climb the elevator?", or "how come Emmit's car started after the shoot out?" I'm always left thinking: You are missing the point!

That line is nothing but a gimmick carried over from the movie (which also was not a true story) because the show steals a lot from various Coen movies and thus often unable to stand on it's own legs. All of the stuff we see in the show has about as much of real world inspirations to them as LOST had (and I loved that show, btw).

And... does this make the show somehow unworthy?..

reply

Not saying that at all. This last season was pretty lame tho.

I thought it was excellent. Very well done.

Emits car starting after the shootout was odd though. They could have shown him siphoning gas from one of the other cars or something. It's not "missing the point" I still enjoy and love the show and discussing illogical plot points is part of the fun.

well, it says: "this is a true story", which does not set it into any relations with reality at all. it does not say "this is based on real events". know what i mean?
