Why did the first episode have music from Alice the video game?

And for those of you that haven't played the video game, its was very dark and definitely not made by Disney.

Presumed the asylum bit was based on it, soon as I saw her grown up in an asylum I thought 'hang on, that reminds me of American Mcghee's Alice... ' and with the darker aspects of Wonderland as well.

Didn't realized they used music from American McGee's Alice in Wonderland video games in the first episode. Even though I never played those games, I think it's a nice nod to another take on the same source material.
