Anastasia from Cinderella lived in a chateau with a sister, a rich mother, and a house slave, and this Anastasia is desperately poor, originally lived in a dirty hovel with a mother who hated her, no sister, and no slave. As far as I can tell, the name is where the similarities end.

You seem to have missed the parts where Anastasia's mother tells her "Obviously You're not princess material but I thought you could at least land a nobleman" (implying she wanted her daughter to be queen) "the only way you'll be coming back inside my house is to empty my chamber pot" (blatant Ella allusion) and "At least i still have your sister". And the OUAT universe has its own versions of the fairy tale characters who aren't identical to the Disney versions at all. Jafar has no resemblance with the Disney's Aladdin version either.
Episode Ten confirms she is Ella's stepsister. The Jabberwocky taunts Anastasia telling "You believe if the prince had chosen you instead of your stepsister then your mother would have loved you".
I guess I did miss those details. I wasn't looking for them, and I've only watched through the series once.

Yeah I noticed that too. But after episode 3 when Demitri said he was in love with a girl named Anastasia, I went and watched Anastasia thinking that it would be her, not Ella's sister lol
shareIt had been mentioned that Anastasia was one of Cinderella's step-sisters. One mention was in episode 5.
shareHer mother's name was specifically lady trumaine. And it's said in the show I believe the flashback episode where the mother tells her had the Prince chosen her. It is clearly the aftermath of Cinderella moving into the palace and them being banished from the kingdom.
