the difficulties arising from the errosion of monocultures

The newspaper Le Figaro in its electronic edition of 06/14/2014 had a positive critique of this movie and a thorough analysis of the reasons of its commercial success(more than ten million tickets!) Probably also because the pater familias is seen in a scene of the movie reading Le Figaro Magazine! My question is whether French viewers found in this movie a resonance with the social questions that perplex them albeit in a satirical and light-hearted manner and what impact does the movie have in viewers from other countries who do not experience the same problems as French society but nevertheless come from societies that are slowly and painfully learning to live in a multicultural manner.

LOL @Oskiros-Arg!!!!

But the original poster has some good points. En tout cas, j'adore ce film, c'est très comique.

J'ai appris le français deux ans à l'école secondaire.
Je peux comprendre un peu, mais ne parle pas rien.

Well, the discrimination in France is known all over the world, so it wasn't surprising. Also, if viewers could only be impacted by a movie about discrimination if they experience it, movies about slavery, the Holocaust, etc. wouldn't be successful.

More like "the discrimination that exists in France exists all over the world." Don't kid yourself and think there are racially/ethnically diverse countries that don't struggle with this issue.

reply

I didn't say that.
