What went wrong

I just watched the six episodes. Theories about the problems.

They looked for the funny in all the wrong places. They should have pulled from the kids in the classroom. Some of those kids were really good and there may have even been some breakouts. They didn't need to go for Glee level music but more of that would have been welcome. Instead they looked at the relationships of the the teachers/administrators none of whom were particularly funny (I except Peri Gilpin - her character had possibilities). And to make one of the teachers a stripper was a special kind of stupid.

Silly stereotypes - Asians, Blacks, even White folk types were just caricatures of real folks. Gym teacher - any resemblance to any real person existing ever? Indian guy lusting after the Blonde - didn't pay attention to the writing credits but my guess is a bunch of nerdy white guys doing the writing.

Have these writers ever even met any Black people. The actors at least should have been protesting these imaginary visions of how Black folks interact with each other and for that fact - how real people ever talk to each other ever.

To have the main focus being the pursuit of Craig's obsession with Meagan Goode just sucked most of the comedic possibilities out of the atmosphere. This could have been a funny show. I don't know about backstage influences, but I suspect that this was micromanaged to death.
