Libertarians want to destroy America

They belive in open boarders. Does anyone here belive that 100 million 3rd worlders will be good for us?

reply

I think it will work out better once the Libertarians eliminate all the social programs and non-vital government services.

Of course then you'll have cut-throat competition for the piddly amount of jobs that exist....

The you back the idea?

reply

As it stands today, only the criminals and impoverished walk through the back door. And that's making the coyotes and illegal markets richer. What we want is to make it easier for the law-abiding, educated and culture-assimilating immigrants to enter our country. The illegal aliens will enter anyway, deplete resources that are better used elsewhere.

Of course i think we need to enhance our security to better catch terrorists, criminals and the wayward poisonous spider. I think a more open border to encourage registration while increasing security to protect our borders is the way to go.

So as long they are "law-abiding, educated and culture-assimilating immigrants" its ok?
So if its 10 million a year and they are all from India thats ok?

reply

I don't really care where they are from. If they can enhance this nation's prosperity, I'm all for it. If they can't, don't or won't, I'd rather they not even bother.

I look around my city and I'd trade half these people for some motivated Indians any day of the week.

does anyone here believe that 100 million third worlders are itching to get into the usa?

and if they're the type of people who think of america the way i do, then yes, i think they'd be very good for us.

reply

Is Sharia law campatable with libertarians?

reply

non-sequitur-man strikes again!

reply

But I'm not a traitor.
You think if 2 billion more people in America is good if they think like you.
....so much for wide open spaces.

reply

so you believe that if the usa opened the borders that 30% of the world's population would drop everything and move here?

whatever you're smoking, i want some!

reply

I can't even move to the other side of the state.
I'd imagine moving your Ethiopian family to the U.S. is akin to taking them to Disneyland.
but who the f^ck can afford to go to Disneyland on an Ethiopian budget?

well so far we got 30 million illegals here.

reply

I didn't even notice. Hard to tell them from the legal ones.
of course, I'm not in a Southern border state where I'm sure the impact is more pronounced.

reply

30 million...2.5 billion...yeah they're pretty much the same thing. you didn't do very well at math class, did you?

reply

The point is if you have open boarders tens of millions more will come and your saying this won't damage traditional America.

reply

the point is that if you have open borders, i doubt that billions of people will swarm the usa. the ones that do come will be the most ambitious and hardest working, so i'm fine with that.

for me, "traditional america" is the melting pot that gives opportunity to those who would take it.

it sounds to me like "traditional america" is your code phrase for "whites only". though in days gone by "traditional america" rejected irish, italians, poles, germans and many others as well.

reply

Although I agree with your assessment, Phantom, in the past there was also a greater need or desire to assimilate into the "American culture" than there is today. The concept of a melting pot is that the ingredients bond and become one concoction. As it stands today, I think there is less intent and desire to become cohesive.

And I think that may be where the OP lives in fear- that there's no melting going on.

perhaps there is less need to fit in nowadays, but there's also far less pressure to conform in general. assimilation tends to happen over generations anyways, not on an individual basis. for an example, i eat out a lot. i regularly go to places serving chinese (hunan & szechuan style), indian (northern & southern), thai, japanese, vietnamese, morroccan, jewish, lebanese, italian, greek, spanish, ethiopian, mexican, irish, british, peruvian, brazilian and even the occasional burger place. melting has happened and we don't even consciously realize it.

reply

Agteed on all counts, though I'm not as culinary enriched in this town. I think we only have three Italian restaurants in this town that aren't corporate chains.

here we go.............When someone is loseing a argument they call the person a racist.
But I do find it strange that most people (%98) the claim to love divirsty for some reason live in white towns send their kids to white schools.
America is not a buisness district it is country with its own distinct culture that seems like you libertarians could care less about but most of you live in "mayberry".

reply

To be fair, that culture DOES have to be in a constant state of change in relation to its residents. We have the diversity and that's a good thing. But with diversity comes adversity as well. This can't be helped. Change is difficult. Just because change moved in a comfortable direction for some doesn't mean it's comforting for all. I hate the name-calling and venom spewed at those who are forced to adjust to a completely new way of thinking. Most of us can't even handle it when schools change to a new math.

So as our nation's demographics shift and our media adjusts accordingly, we are going to lose our present culture. it's happened before and it will happen again. It's not just about color but seeing your history (and the people and places that made you who you are) painted over. Painted over in color, in language, clothing, color combinations, religions, ideologies, etc.
So not only are we expected to accept and even welcome this reconstruction, but are called names and chastised for calling attention to the changes at hand. Foreseeing them.

Tough tittie kitty cat. Life's not fair. It's happened before and it will happen again. For better and for worse. Joe's Bar & Grill had to sell out to Raj's Hummus House eventually. Globalization. It's been in the works since man first tilled the ground.

Yes things change..but as far as the demographic change, its from specific government policy. I don't remember a vote to destroy the white majority.
Who do you want to move next door to you? A third worlder from Somalia or a plumber from Sweden?

reply

Actually, I've had all sorts of neighbors and I just want one who takes care of their yard, returns the tools they borrow, is quiet while I'm sleeping, doesn't play loud, window-rattling music and has good smells emanating from their BBQ.
And if they can speak the language I learned in this country, so we can communicate with each other, all the better.

Granted, knowing a plumber, an electrician or an auto mechanic might be handy... and I guess it doesn't really matter where they originate from.

i don't remember a vote that permanently enshrined a white majority, either. when was that held?

this is so dumb it's obvious you're just trolling.

reply

well considering that you're the guy worried about immigrants from india and sharia law, since the racist label fits you ought to wear it with (white) pride.

i guess i'm part of the supposed 2%.

perhaps you could tell me about this single distinct american culture. would that be the one from watts, dallas, new york city, new orleans, miami, minneapolis....?

and since when am i a libertarian?

reply

[deleted]

you mean liberals, not libertarians

reply

The main reason I wouldn't vote for them.
