Ok so apparently the last episode was the last. ??? I dont understand so much of it! Dillon was the dad's killer, but who is the blonde little girl? Was the pact broken? The descendants from the pact signers were the only kids marked? Why were the Collins family cutting the hair, what was the purpose? Who was in the car in the 1910s scene? I am so confused!

shareIt is implied that Max (the blonde child) was a demon. The pact wasn't so much broken as delayed by the fact that all five of them were supposed to go at the same time. So Miranda being dead first represented a problem for Abaddon and he was trying to resurrect her to solve it. I didn't realize that only descendants of the signers were vulnerable, that was a good catch there, thank you for pointing that out. It makes perfect sense too, since you have to invite evil into your home in folktales. The Collins family were cutting the hair as part of a spell that kept all the souls tied to the mortuary. They were supposed to collect a certain amount of souls that were ultimately all going to be handed over to Abaddon to 'pay off' the curse. So Collins was kind of like a banker. A banker of souls, managing a savings account for an evil entity. It would seem that the adults became complicit from fearing being kneecapped for fighting the terms of the curse, and hoping that if they finally paid it off Abaddon would hare off to greener pastures. It's not made clear which Collins was in the car in the 1910's scene, but it was definitely a Collins. Probably Uncle Collins's direct ancestor.
This show really did start to get complex right at the end there. I wish they hadn't spent so many episodes with people talking around a table. As a genre fan, I think that kind of pacing is what caused the viewer slump. It would be nice to get some narrative closure for this show.
