Stupid shows like Pretty little liars and vampire diaries get high ratings and torture the audience with unlimited seasons . Plus the lead actress of VD is sooo dul and sad. Ravenswood had fresh faces and beautiful Merrit Patterson , plus the story was interesting , and it gets cancelled.

shareThe whole problem behind good shows deign cancelled lies completely with the broadcast company.
In the case of Ravenswood, they wanted the show to "piggyback" PLL. That plan could have worked if the 2 shows were in an earlier timeslot. Tuesday's optimal viewing times are 7pm-9pm and PLL had hold on 2 of them.
The demographic for these shows are girls 13-16, so 9pm is the beginning of the said demo's dead-time. PLL, which was already established, could've survived in the 9pm slot.
Don't forget ABC is known for this kind of screw-job. They did the same thing to "TNLoCK".
Yeah I was really pissed when it got canceled especially when it ended in a cliffhanger.
