Anyone else find this part a little disturbing? (spoilers)

Everything that happens to Steinmann. I found it a little excessive/cruel.

Don't get me wrong; it's a typical "starts out with a team/group of people and they get picked off one by one" movie. Some of them will get killed by the badguy, some of them will kill each other. We knew that. We go into this movie knowing that most of them will die - usually 0 to 2 end up surviving in these movies - Totally fine.

The first guy that gets injected - we've seen that "slow transformation and he tries to hide it from everyone else" before. The black guy in the elevator, he says, "but I'll take him if I get the jump on him" then leaves the elevator before looking - we all knew he was gonna die there. Etc..

But Steinmann, first of all, she was like one of the few "good" and not-insane characters. She killed the girl hybrid out of sympathy to end her pain, and she even tried apologizing to the male hybrid. What she gets is the most cruel death and fucked up death, maybe only second to the syringe guy? Pretty much everybody else had the luxury of an instant death. I just found it a little weird. The telekinesis bone-breaking body slam thing was one thing - that was fucked up just on it's own, but it wasn't over the top yet. But then we have to watch her get injected with lethal injection chemicals or whatever, and we have to sit there with the camera on her for what felt like a full minute and watch her breathing slowly stop until she dies? And this was after she had been laying crippled and bleeding alone, for around 10 minutes. Her ONE saving grace would've been if she actually successfully killed the traitor woman with the knife, which would've been cool, but she couldn't even have that victory. Did the writer hate that character or something?

Again, I understand that most people die in these movies, I just feel like she should've broken her neck and instantly died when the alien thing threw her down. I dunno, maybe it's because she was the only character I liked. Oh well.
