7th doctor tidbits

Couple of things I noticed:

When Ace turns on the TV and it finally warms up (yes, kids, vacuum tube TV's really did take that long to warm up), they do a very clever smash cut with the continutiy announcer, when he talks about the BBC's "new science fiction program, Do..." and it cuts away. I'm not sure, but I think if you mention the TV show Doctor Who _on_ Doctor Who, the same thing happens that happened when Rose touches the infant version of herself in Father's Day.

The book that Ace picks up in the school is a book about the French Revolution. It's the same book (minus the dust jacket) that Barbara Wright gave Susan Foreman in the pilot. Of course, it's the same school that Susan attended.

While I know it's a common nursury rhyme, the music for the school girl appears again with the 11th Doctor (Tick tock, goes the clock, when River kills the Doctor). Somehow, having seen that first made the previous use even creepier to me.

My cable dropped BBC America the night they were airing this and I missed it. Is it available anywhere in its entirety?

reply

I didn't turn it up in a quick search of netflix or hulu plus.

Thanks. Maybe they will show it before the 8th Doctor Revisited. I believe they've been showing the earlier episodes on the day when they show the new one.

The episodes are all available on Daily motion. That's where I'm watching them. I live in England and cant believe the series hasn't been shown here.

Thanks! I'm not familiar with Daily motion, but I see The Seventh Doctor Revisited there. Thanks so much!
