Cousin Oliver annoying

"Cousin Oliver" is a syndrome when a long-running sitcom adds an unnecessary young character to keep it 'fresh'. A Brady Bunch reference.

Liv And Maddie's Cousin Oliver is such a pest, I just want to swat her down.

Do you mean Ruby? Ruby is fine. Lauren Lindsey Donzis is a fine addition to the cast. The season is barely under way. Give both a chance.

(By the way the L&M main page here hasn't been updated to include Lauren although she's is shown in the opening credits. She is listed on individual episode pages, however, under "Rest of cast listed alphabetically."

Not sure I get your "Cousin Oliver" reference, and I'm old enough to have seen The Brady Bunch (Rest In Peace, Florence Henderson) in first run. You mean a later character played by a kid who looked like John Denver?

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.

They've already aired 5 episodes, I believe there's only 13 episodes this season, so the season is almost over. The finale is scheduled to air in March 2017.

Yes, Cousin Oliver was Carol Brady's nephew who joined the cast in the last season (actually the last six episodes of the series). There is TV trope called the "Cousin Oliver" Syndrome in which an aging TV series adds a new younger kid because the original kids are aging (see Raven-Symone on The Cosby Show)

Danny Cooksey on "Different Strokes", Leon on "Night Court", Heather O'Roarke on "Happy Days",and Seven on "Married with Children". Just to name a few off the top of my head. I am sure there are many more but I can not think of them at the moment.

I never thought of Ruby as a pest for a second. I half expected this thread to be about Artie or someone else.
