This board is kinda dead

Thought with season 4 being in full swing that this board would pick up. But is dead in here. I know people are annoyed by the new little girl and the change of locale, but I thought there might be a few things to talk about here.

I wonder if Willow will still appear now that she and Joey have broken up.

reply

I wish they would've kept them together for longer than a minute.

I forgot there was even a new episode Friday. I don't know I was pretty optimistic about season 4 but it's not delivering. I guess others feel the same. I know I miss the old recurring characters. Seriously, why is Willow even in California if we barely see her? And why did they break up her and Joey after five minutes of being together? I miss Mosh. Maddie barely has a presence in this show or any interesting storylines.

Strangely, it looks like a lot of threads were deleted.

Yea I used to watch each episode the night it premiered now it gets recorded and I watch it when there is absolutely nothing else on. I don't care for the story lines at all.

This season is just not that interesting. I watch but the TV's on, but I'm not paying attention, usually doing other things (playing games, surfing the net).

I think the producers thought the move to Cali would be a shot in the arm for the show, but it's not the same. Liv's TV career is boring and so is Sing It Louder! Maddie's in college but we don't see any of her college life, other than writing papers at home. Boring!! Joey's "Falcon" alter ego is lame. Parker's annoying, and so it the new cousin.
Plus, the dad's gone and so are most of the semi-regulars that made the show fun (Artie, Willow, Johnny Nimbus, Diggie, Parker's friends). Disney should have pulled the plug after season 3.

Someone said a similar thing recently about the Girl Meets World board. I replied that the last time I checked, in August, the GMW board was still generating more discussions than all of the other boards for active Disney Channel shows combined. ("Active" meaning all shows still in production, or wrapped but still airing first-run episodes.) This shows a lot of passion about the show, but I believes it's more that the Boy Meets World faithful watch the spinoff closely to make sure it preserves the original's legacy for all eternity.

As for the boards for L&M and the other shows, the number of fresh topics feels way down for Disney Channel shows in general compared with five to seven years ago. Certainly for the long-running replacements for then-active shows such as Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luck Charlie and Hannah Montana. From my observation, even Jessie generated healthier amounts of discussion through the end its run last year than most of the newest shows. Maybe viewers think most of the newest shows stink, or social media choices have expanded so much that fewer people want to post here.

It's like the ratings for Disney channel shows, now in the 1's and 2's (meaning millions?) for the hits, when five years ago the best shows scored in the 3- to 5-range. More channel choices and platforms (such as Netflix, Amazon) spreading out the audience or more mediocre shows from The Walt Disney Company?

Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
