AWFUL 2nd half...

Yeah, it worked far better as a suspenseful/mystery. The second half just become the usual trash that the horror genre can be like at times.

Sinister had its problems but it was far better than Starry Eyes ! There was suspense and things happened.

I thought this film was steadily awesome, atmospheric and eerie throughout. Much better Sinister...and I liked Sinister.

I do agree the first half was better than the second. The second half wasn't bad, I just wish they would've showed her after she had become a famous movie star. As it stands I give the film a 7/10.

It does lose some of its tight control in the last half hour, yes. I felt the film had a great build-up, but I thought it was building up to a furtherance of the plot, perhaps a depiction of what happened after she had a little bit of success. As it is, the murders take up too much time and then she "transforms," and it ends. It left me wanting more, and while that's good, it's also bad because the film could have been better constructed.

Agreed. But the second half still has its merits. The oscillation between shots of the lead girl's arm and a demonic arm when she is completing her transformation is pretty awesome.
